The Rebecca Sealy Distinguished Alumnus and Hall of Fame Awards are intended to honor alumni who have made major contributions to nursing through a commitment of excellence in paitent care, research, publications, education, community service, and/or nursing leadership.

Complete a Rebecca Sealy Distinguished Alumnus and Hall of Fame Nomination Form

The nominee:

Is a member of the Alumni Association or is willing to become a member.

Has contributed to the growth of the Alumni Association and /or the School of Nursing (e.g. establishing scholarships, participating in student activities, attending Homecoming, volunteering for fundraising events, member or officer of BOD, or other examples of promoting the SON).

Has conducted research, published articles or made comparable significant impact on health care.

Has made significant contributions to the nursing professional in clinical practice, education, administration, or organizational work involving health care or innovation in health care delivery systems.

Has made a significant contribution to the School, either financially or in a time and effort for the benefit of the School.

Nomination packet must include:

Nomination letter that describes significant contributions to the nursing profession in clinical practice, education, administration, or organizational work involving health care delivery systems.

A copy of the nominee’s curriculum vitae.

Letters of support from at least two nurse colleagues and one other health care professional that include specific examples of significant contributions to the nursing profession. More letters may be provided if desired.

Evidence of national and/or international recognition (required for Rebecca Sealy Distinguished Alumni)

Nominations will not be considered unless all items on the above list are submitted. Nominations of those not selected will be held for a period of three years and will be eligible for reconsideration yearly.
