Membership & Dues

The Alumni Association is a voluntary organization comprised of graduates of the School of Nursing’s undergraduate and graduate programs. The purposes of the association are to promote the interests of The University of Texas Medical Branch School of Nursing and to foster the professional standards and educational advancement of nursing. Faculty and friends of the School of Nursing are also welcomed as Associate members. Honorary membership may be conferred by the Board of Directors for special circumstances. Join Us!

Join For a Lifetime
The UTMB School of Nursing Alumni Association has a lifetime member category. You will be recognized in the Alumni Newsletter and will receive a lovely crystal paperweight suitable for your home or office. Your gift of $500 will be used for an endowment for your Alumni Association to ensure that your organization will grow and prosper. Please join us in this important effort to strengthen our nursing alumni network.

Active Membership
Your annual dues support general operational funds for association business, provide resources for alumni informational mailings and for the sponsoring of student activities. You are entitled to voting privileges and the opportunity to hold office. Renewal notices are sent each June for the next fiscal year.

Associate Membership
Friends of the School of Nursing who join as members of the association will receive all informational mailings about the school and may serve on association committees. Associate members may also join as lifetime members.

Alumni Association Projects

· Keeps alumni informed about activities at the school.

· Plans activities to welcome new students and to honor new graduates of the School of Nursing.

· Selects an alumnus to receive the Rebecca Sealy Distinguished Alumnus each commencement.

· Reviews nominations and selects Hall of Fame members to be honored at Homecoming each year.

· Plans Homecoming each year with emphasis on honoring all anniversary classes.

· Sets up displays for Nurses Week at UTMB and for other special conferences and meetings.

· Assists the School of Nursing Development Office in the publication of alumni newsletters.

· Participates in the activities of the UTMB Alumni Coordinating Board.
