eCamp was originally funded by the Nursing Innovation Grant Program, sponsored by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

The primary goal of eCamp is to provide students with technology resources and to familiarize students with current technological trends, internet security, and other skills that will assist them in their pursuit of education. The technology eCamp provides cumulative learning which encourages students to use the skills as they work in conjuction with their peers.

Over 400 Generic BSN students have participated in this training, as well as UTMB faculty and students from the RN/BSN & Master's programs.
